Fast-growing online marketplace Notonthehighstreet.com has announced the appointments of three senior executives, hired directly from global giants Google, PayPal, and Amazon.

The company, started by 2008 Growing Business Young Gun Holly Tucker and her co-founder Sophie Cornish, has moved quickly to cement its reputation as one of the most exciting e-commerce sites in the UK. Despite difficult retailing conditions and a recession the company has seemingly emerged unscathed, with turnover hitting £15.1m in 2010 just four years after its launch.

Ex-director of Amazon’s division covering clothing, accessories and sporting goods Jason Weston has joined as chief operating officer. Weston spent 10 years in a number of senior positions at the e-commerce behemoth.

Mark Hodson, who spent five years as marketing director of PayPal UK, has taken up the position of chief marketing officer. And Maya Moufarek, who spent six years at Google as a founding member of the EMEA Emerging Markets team, will head up international development the fast-growing online retailer.

Previously, the company has secured three rounds of funding, with Index Ventures and Greylock Partners backing the company to the tune of £7.5m in 2010.
