Notonthehighstreet.com, co-founded by 2008 Young Gun Holly Tucker MBE, has announced that it has recruited Tesco.com’s managing director Simon Belsham as its new chief executive.

Belsham, who will be joining the company in May, is set to capitalise upon his online retail background having worked at Tesco.com for just over two years, with previous director roles at Ocado.

Launched in 2005 by Tucker and co-founder Sophie Cornish, Richmond-based Nononthehighstreet.com is an online marketplace for small businesses and gives independent retailers the opportunity to showcase their wares to a national audience. The e-commerce company has continued to scale rapidly year-on-year with 53% revenue increase and turnover for 2014 reported at £127m.

Notonthehighstreet.com’s Tucker, awarded Golden Gun at the Young Guns Awards 2013, commented on the appointment: “Belsham’s entrepreneurial background and commitment to small and medium businesses will fit well with the ethos and ambitions we have developed.

“We know the company is in the right hands to continue to change the face of UK enterprise by supporting growing small companies.”
