Few of the great business partnerships have been forged in a teenage band, but then Paul Thomas (pictured left) and Henry Braithwaite (pictured right) have always strived to be a little different. Their company, Market Makers, is set up to offer fresh solutions to common telesales and telemarketing problems, incorporating a host of value-added services such as target profiling and value-added service. Thomas and Braithwaite say their “persistent focus is on taking a profession that historically has a bad reputation, and completely spinning it on its head”, and this approach is reaping considerable reward; Market Makers is set to turn over £7.2m in 2011, and the business has been named in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For list three years in a row. The founders are currently building a school in Cameroon – with further charitable projects set to follow.
