Sparked by the struggles to find suitable care for their own family members, founders (and brothers) Chris and Will Donnelly were passionate about challenging the care industry’s long-standing status quo.

Heavily impacted by the pandemic, they felt firsthand how it had never been more important to empower care seekers. Chris explains, “Combining my expertise in technology and Will’s experience in the social care sector, our mission is to transform elderly care.”

Lottie is the UK’s first directory to showcase a vetted supply of care homes and to offer care seekers full transparency when it comes to residency fees. The platform makes it compulsory for care providers to divulge their fees upfront. It presently covers up to eight care categories, including residential, nursing and dementia care services.

From sharing practical, emotional and financial support to caregivers that may be struggling – as well as sharing useful resource centres – Lottie is actively raising awareness of the impact of the cost of living crisis on those who are elderly or vulnerable.

Boosted by pre-launch financiers including Tom Blomfield (founder of Monzo) and Jacob Haddad (founder of AccuRx), the company acquired Found – one of the UK’s leading CRM and occupancy care home software. Moreover, it recently launched Seniorcare by Lottie. With one in seven employees having caregiving responsibilities of an elderly relative, this platform enables businesses to help their employees who are unpaid carers.

So what next? Well, the Donnellys have set their sights on being the market leader in the elder care sector within five years. They are confident Lottie’s growth is achievable: “We’re only at the beginning of our journey as a startup and we’re very excited to see what the future holds.”
