About the business

Growaforest is a not-for-profit organization started by Christian Woolfenden in April 2005. The business is run entirely by volunteers and the aim is to make it easier for individuals and businesses to reverse the damage done by CO2 emissions through planting trees.

Judges’ comments

Through Growaforest, Chrsitian had shown excellent original thinking and vision. The business model is simple and effective creating a strong platform for future growth with real long term community and environmental benefits. The business was profitable in its first month and there is already an established list of regular users. Advanced discussions have been had with blue chip companies to gain support for 3 entire forests.
