The Laundryheap story:

Laundryheap was launched in 2014 by Deyan Dimitrov, Sebastian van Os and Mayur Bommai, and currently offers its services in London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The trio’s laundry and dry-cleaning service offers same-day collection (pick up in 30 minutes) and free delivery within 24 hours, and is part of the major shift of bringing established industries to the ‘on-demand’ economy.

Laundryheap manages to make light work of everybody’s least favourite task – and is the fastest online laundry and dry-cleaning company to do so.

Customers are able to make bookings directly via their website or iOS and Android app, where they can choose a time slot that’s right for them.

Laundryheap’s scouts will then pick up the customer’s laundry from their home or chosen location and deliver them to a partner facility, where they are expertly cleaned and returned within 24 hours, any day of the week.

The London-based company are unique in growing without any external funding, which the founders say is mainly down to closely following the lean start-up approach, and by heavily focusing on quality and the customer experience.

Why Laundryheap made our shortlist:

Laundryheap has managed to bring technology and innovation to what is a very traditional industry, and was voted ‘best in category’ by Trustpilot as a result.

Their growth to this scale, without any external funding to date, promises great things for the tech startup’s future, and potentially the industry as a whole. But will they manage a clean sweep at this year’s awards?
