Having identified a gap in the market for a marketing platform and with the performance marketing industry heavily fragmented in Europe and the US, Ken Leren saw an opportunity.

He started Startups 100-featured Tech Essence, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based marketing technology solution provider. The company helps its clients make better informed decisions on measuring and optimising their marketing across multiple channels. Its flagship product Marketing Town is a proprietary platform for tracking, campaign management and analytics, which helps companies optimise partner marketing campaigns.

The software automates campaign tracking and optimisation processes, allowing advertisers and marketers to not only track, report, analyse, optimise and bill all types of advertising, but also to reach a much larger target area. It achieve this through its list of leading marketing partners.

Auditus Audience Acquisition – a major UK seller of magazine and newspaper subscriptions – used Tech Essence to analyse the performance of its affiliate networks, allowing it to make better decisions on how to measure campaign performance and double return on investment.

Additionally, Tech Essence provides services to help its customers tackle the most serious challenges posed by General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The incoming EU legislation is intended to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals and Tech Essence promises to lessen the impact of data breaches by third parties. Marketing Town allows businesses to see which GDPR-compliant partner the leads originated from and which creative variants were used.
