Adam Rossiter and Elliot Dawes certainly have big ambitions for their growing business BULK POWDERS – with plans to become a £100m brand by 2018.

Having founded the sports nutrition business in 2006 with a mere £6,000 loan from their parents, the duo now have over 85 employees, delivered revenues of  £10.7m in 2014 and have rolled out localised websites across Europe – with another four sites on the horizon.

By focusing on ensuring that all of their protein powders and related products are “best in class” – manufacturing them all in-house – Rossiter and Dawes have successfully tapped into the burgeoning sports protein market. Predominantly targeting health conscious 18 to 35 year-olds, the Colchester company has amassed a loyal customer base; it has topped 100% year-on-year growth over the last two years and its social media following stands in excess of 100,000.

Dawes and Rossiter are now eyeing up expansion outside of Europe, with the US and China in their sights, and have recently moved into a 50,000 sq ft warehouse with a custom-built £700,000 production facility. Turnover is projected to hit £18m this year, taking them ever closer to becoming one of the world’s largest sports nutrition companies by 2018.
