One of our Five to Watch companies last year, Claire Vevo gave up her corporate job three years ago to launch her “BioOrganic” skincare range Aurelia Probiotic Skincare.

It turned out to be a good decision – within 18 months, the company had secured listings with NET-A-PORTER, Space NK Apothecary and the Liberty Beauty Hall – where it is thought to be the prestigious store’s fastest growing skincare brand. Adhering to a strict “free from” and ethical policy, developed using natural ingredients, Aurelia claims its range of “scientifically proven” products protect against skin ageing, regenerate cell metabolism and boost collagen production.

Buoyed by its success, the brand – which is already available in specialist boutiques across the US and Europe – will next turn its focus to international expansion. A distribution agreement with 120 stores across Scandinavia is underway, with a number of other European deals already in the pipeline. Despite launching into a highly competitive sector, this three-year-old business has already made its mark, racking up a total of over 50 awards along the way including Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35, Tatler Beauty Awards, Red Magazine Eco Beauty Awards and is set to hit £2.5m turnover next year.
