Based on the understanding that buying a car can be a “bit of a minefield”, in 2006 James Wilkinson and Ryan Dignan decided to start a business that would enable people in a variety of financial and personal circumstances to purchase a car.

Originally launched as CarLoan4U and recently rebranded to Zuto, the online car finance company boasts a 98% customer satisfaction rate and now works with over 15 lenders including Santander and Barclays to offer access to more than 60 finance products. Backed by a recent £8m investment from Scottish Equity Partners, Wilkinson and Dignan have grown the business to a hugely impressive £20.5m turnover.

Staff numbers have also scaled dramatically and the Manchester entrepreneurs now employ over 350 people, with the Sunday Times ranking Zuto amongst the Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For in 2014.

Having recently announced the launch of a £15m advertising campaign, with national TV ads airing on ITV1 and Sky, Zuto looks set to become not just a business success story but a household name.
