Lex Deak, 33
Company: OFF3R and QVentures

From selling electronics at school to building and selling an eBay drop-off shop and hotel business, serial entrepreneur Lex Deak never considered being anything else.

In 2014 he founded QVentures – a members’ only club of vetted angel investors focused on early stage investments of between £500,000 and £5m. Thanks to a partnership with London-based global concierge service Quintessentially, in just two years the firm has grown to operate satellite offices in more than 60 countries, injecting £40m in more than 25 companies to date.

On the back of his experience with QVentures, Deak went on to found OFF3R in 2015 – thought to be the “world’s first crowdfunding aggregator”. Originally called Tendr, the free service enables investors to discover and track investment opportunities across over 30 crowdfunding platforms, displaying them in a Tinder-style swipe format. OFF3R’s community of 6,000 investors currently has access to 93 deals across from the leading platforms.

Set to generate combined turnover (alongside QVentures) of £3m next year, Deak is preparing to announce a significant upgrade to OFF3R with the goal of becoming the leading marketplace for alternative investments.
