The Housekeep story:

It was only a matter of time before start-ups began to disrupt the UK’s £4bn home cleaning market, and for former Smedvig Capital investor Avin Rabheru the industry represented the big, fragmented (and un-disrupted) market he was looking for.

The result was Startups 100-listed Housekeep, an online platform that connects vetted and experienced home cleaners with house proud home owners and manages the admin, booking and payment for them. Along with secure key collection, tracking and a £2m insurance policy, the company ensures the same cleaner is sent every time to offer a regular and reliable service.

But it’s not just the customer that benefits, the platform enables its hundreds of cleaners to manage their schedule on a purpose built phone app, allowing them to find a high volume of jobs in their local area and save time and money on travel.

After a 2014 spent researching, recruiting and marketing, 2015 has seen Housekeep grow its revenue by 32%, and provide an estimated 10,000 hours of cleaning, every month.

Why Housekeep made our 60:

Combining a customer focused approach with a service that has the best interests of its employees at heart, Housekeep has seen rapid growth in the past year. With $1m venture capital backing, the young firm is making waves in the £4bn home cleaning market. Impressive stuff.
