Written and reviewed by: Henry Williams Google has launched its inaugural ‘Founders over 50’ programme at Campus London – a new initiative to support people over the age of 50 who are looking to start their own business.Taking place one morning a week for six weeks, Founders over 50 will offer training, skill-sharing and inspiration, through sessions led by successful entrepreneurs and investors.The programme, which starts on June 17, will cover topics including business planning, communications and design with a chance for the 10 founders to receive feedback on their start-ups from the business community at the end of the course.According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), one in five people over 50 is self employed with the number of “silver entrepreneurs” expected to reach two million by 2020.Sarah Drinkwater, head of Campus London, discussed the programme: “Since Google opened Campus London in 2012, we’ve supported a growing community of 42,000 entrepreneurs and developers at thousands of free events, workshops, lectures and hackathons.“Diversity has always been part of our mission.
