Europe’s 25 Corporate Startup Stars winner offers an integrated approach to growing its business via start-up collaboration
The Dutch telecommunications company KPN has a varied and well-integrated programme to foster cooperation with start-ups, for example around IOT, smart home, e-health, cybersecurity and big data.
The teams at KPN New Business and KPN Ventures, KPN’s investment arm, are actively engaging with start-ups and scale-ups. They create innovative events and partnership arrangements, bringing together corporates, startups and government and make strategic investments and acquisitions.
Imaginative collaborations – for example, with a start-up turning KPN’s underused parking spaces into new revenues – demonstrate KPN’s desire to collaborate in new ways.
Facilitating its work is a start-up liaison officer, dedicated to making matches with contacts elsewhere in the organisation and securing actionable outcomes.
