Founded by PhD students Artemi and Douglas in 2006, DotHomes is being hailed as ‘the Google of property'. Based on Google's idea of constantly ‘crawling' the web to look for new search results, the site crawls estate agents' websites, rather than waiting for them to upload property details, which means it's constantly being updated.

It even has a property equivalent of the ‘I'm feeling lucky' button – ‘I'm feeling wealthy' – which allows you to look at the most impressive and expensive homes for sale on the web.
