Alla and Anna set up their liquid egg whites venture in 2007 and are the first company to provide the product for the retail market. Eager to tap into an increasingly health-obsessed consumer market, the pair decided to make the yolk-free omelette just a little bit easier to prepare.

Last August they signed a temporary exclusivity deal for Selfridges to stock the egg white while still selling it themselves at small delis and stalls. However, once the contract ended Harrods, Wholefoods and Waitrose were quick to jump on board, and in February 2008 the pair convinced Sainsbury’s to join the impressive list of stockists.
