About the Startups 100

Now in its 16th year, the Startups 100 is the definitive list of the most promising new UK businesses. There's no fee for entry or for inclusion in our index. The Startups team of new business experts judge all our top 100 entrants in collaboration with specialist industry consultants. EasyA is the world’s first app that allows individuals to educate themselves on complex emerging technologies like Web3 and blockchain technology, right from their smartphone.

Traditionally regarded as a complex topic, EasyA sets out to demystify blockchain technology through interactive courses on topics such as blockchain basics, cryptocurrency, and smart contracts. It also holds hackathons and events where users can build their own Web3 projects, and there is a community forum where users can ask questions and get help from other learners.

EasyA’s target audience is huge, comprising of ambitious students and aspiring developers who are interested in blockchain and want to be part of its adoption. The company welcomes individuals at all skill levels and aims to further the growth of the next generation of Web3 talent.

EasyA is already used by over 500,000 developers around the world, including students from top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge and the Ivy Leagues.

In five years, EasyA will be the number one way people get onboarded to Web3.

The platform’s user base keeps growing too, with an impressive community of over 750,000, and 30 hackathons already completed, with more on the horizon. The company’s founders, Phil and Dom Kwok, are well placed to lead on the subject, being former investment bankers and lawyers who have been in the blockchain industry since 2013.

The Kwok brothers are setting the bar high for next steps.  “In five years, EasyA will be the number one way people get onboarded to Web3,” they tell us.

“From learning about how to set up their first crypto wallet to building their first blockchain application, users from around the world will come to EasyA to learn how they can become active contributors to the new internet. Through this, we’ll also have onboarded the next one billion users.”

For making the complex world of Web3 and blockchain easier to access, EasyA deserves its place on this year’s Startups 100 index.
