The way companies share information with the media is fragmented and inefficient. Or at least, that’s what Tom Lawrence thinks. Tom is the brains behind MVPR – an automated PR software company that gives startups the tools to build relationships and share content with journalists.

After working in the PR industry for almost ten years, and witnessing agencies charge companies exorbitant fees while delivering lacklustre results, Lawrence decided he could come up with a better solution himself.

This is when he launched MVPR, an AI-backed operation platform that streamlines company communications. The business has a simple mission – to “make PR more efficient and effective for everyone”.

In its short history, MVPR has already made major waves – winning “Best Overall PR Software Solution” at the 2022 Global MarTech Awards. It’s also attracted major clients like One Trading, Octopus Ventures, APEX Capital, and fell Startups-100 alumni, Legislate.

Despite the company’s current success, however, securing funding hasn’t always been easy. After failing to raise a pre-seed round on a prototype, Lawrence decided to bootstrap instead. He used a £15,000 government loan to develop a simple minimum viable product, and the company took off from there – with its total bootstrap funding currently sitting at almost £1 million.

MVPR plans to use this funding to expand its horizons, with Lawrence’s ultimate aim to be the largest AI-powered operating system for the orchestration of all company communications. And MVPR’s secret weapon? Its team.

The PR startups’ small but mighty workforce has collectively spent 35 years working for some of the top boutique and major agencies in the world.

This knowledge has made it possible for MVPR to create and maintain an extremely high-quality product that addresses the real concerns businesses and journalists are facing today.

With the AI-powered solution launching in beta to startups soon, we’re excited to see how MVPR continues to shape the PR industry going forward.
