The Buzzmove story:

Tapping in to the £1bn removals market and £10bn insurance industry, online site Buzzmove serves consumers looking to move home as well as moving and insurance companies looking to target potential customers.

Founded by Becky Downing in 2013, the site allows consumers to create a digital inventory of their belongings and compare and book certified movers, while also providing moving companies with professional surveying software and insurance companies with home contents data.

Using a database of hundreds of moving companies and thousands of qualified surveyors, Buzzmove can digitally itemise your home contents and empower you with a real-time valuation of everything you own, that you can then share with insurers to get tailored coverage at the right price.

The site claims to have helped many thousands of people move home since launch and aims for a seven-figure turnover in 2017.

Just last August, it secured £6m in super-seed funding led by White Mountains Insurance Group, and will use the investment to continue the development of its platform.

Why Buzzmove made our shortlist:

Claiming to be Europe’s first online price comparison and booking platform for the moving industry, it’s not hard to see why this start-up has caused such a buzz.
