The Sleek Events story:

Jennifer Davidson subscribes to the philosophy that “if we have to work every day, why not do something we love with clients that appreciate all the hard work you put in?”

After graduating from Bournemouth University in 2009, Davidson worked as an events executive and freelancer for several years before striking out on her own and setting up a boutique agency from an office in her spare bedroom.

In 2017, Sleek Events moved to an office in Richmond and the company has never looked back.

Davidson credits her exceptional team for the consistent 100% year-on-year growth that Sleek Events has enjoyed since starting out.

She says her team are “friendly yet professional, smart yet sassy and flexible yet have a keen eye on goals.” With this flexible, personalised USP, the Sleek team really take the time and effort to get to know their clients and understand their aspirations.

This attentive approach allows them to deliver a bespoke service to every client no matter how large or small; they have planned events of all sizes from 10 people to 10,000.

Davidson and her team have maintained their boutique feel even as turnover has rocketed,  and team cohesion means that, whilst every client has a main contact for its project, any member of the team can happily provide an update.

Sleek believes wholeheartedly in the link between company culture and exemplary levels of customer service. The ethos is based around a culture that hinges on mutual respect, loyalty, authenticity, love and creativity. To this end, Davidson works hard to keep her team small and close.

She wants to expand to a maximum of 15 people, and to continue to nurture talent right out of university. Her efforts extend to helping her staff to handle the stress that, she says, “comes as standard within our industry.”

Though here team is all-female, Davidson maintains that this is not by design, rather a result of “recruiting the best candidates who apply.”

Why Sleek Events made our shortlist:

Nearly 100% of Sleek Events’ turnover comes from business-to-business (B2B), yet the company is not your typical stuffy old corporate events manager. Instead, Davidson and her team are committed to delivering exciting, memorable events and an exceptional level of customer service.

Company culture is considered integral to client satisfaction, and the business model thrives on the happiness and wellbeing of its employees.
