Maximising on the popular trend for on-demand services comes Jack Tang’s and Giles Williams’ wellness app. Dubbed the “Uber of massage”, Urban Massage allows you to book a qualified masseuse to come to your home, office or hotel within one hour.

Targeted at time-poor residents, corporations keen on offering company perks and luxury hotels, Tang and Williams have already seen major interest in the app since launch in February 2014. Listed among the top 100 UK start-ups of 2015, the start-up has enjoyed press coverage in leading publications such as the Evening Standard, the Guardian and TechCrunch, and has peaked the interest of high-profile venture capital firms Passion Capital and Samos Investments with an impressive seed investment.

While the 23 and 25 year-old entrepreneurs have so far only launched the app in London, Bristol and Manchester, expansion to other cities is on the cards and the duo have also been working with several of the UK’s top massage schools to provide training and career opportunities for their therapists. With 12 employees and a seven-figure projected turnover, we predict big things for Urban Massage over the coming year.
