First covered in our 2013 Startups 100, Jeff Lynn and Carlos Silva’s crowdfunding platform has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2012. Funding over £1m per month, Seedrs can properly count itself amongst the UK’s leaders in alternative finance. Following a funding round via its own platform that saw it raise £2.58m (smashing its original £750,000 target), Seedrs is backed by nearly 1,000 investors, including DFJ Esprit, Faber Ventures and Digital Prophets.

Now open to start-ups and investors across Europe, the founders say the first ever crowdfunding platform to receive approval from the FCA has seen impressive growth so far, but that it is “only the beginning.” We can’t help but agree that the signs look good for this hugely promising company.
