A new season equals new priorities for shoppers across the country, especially with the change in weather and more sunnier days (hopefully) ahead of us.

May represents the peak of spring, which for many means more time spent outdoors, refreshing their wardrobes, or preparing for those long-awaited summer getaways.

For dropshipping businesses, it’s always tough to know exactly what people are looking for when a new season arises. But don’t fret – we’ve crunched the numbers and have gathered seven of the hottest products from top dropshipping suppliers to help boost your sales for this month.

1. Black wide leg jeans

Fashion is fast-moving, especially when a new season comes around, and this month’s most popular apparel are black wide leg jeans. Unlike regular jeans, wide leg jeans offer a looser and more relaxed fit that drapes from the hip down, giving you a “flowy” silhouette.

And despite the brighter days, black seems to be the most in-demand colour choice. After all, our research found that the search volume for black wide leg jeans reached 7,100 on Amazon, with an increased interest of +21%. Meanwhile, results for Google show a 5,400 search volume and +22% interest.

As with other popular fashion pieces, dropshippers can take advantage of this demand through short-form video content on social media, such as TikTok and Instagram. Showing the product in real-life outfits or “try on” clips can help brands tap into what’s popular, plus create content that feels natural rather than overly promotional.

2. Fabric shavers

It’s the season for spring cleaning, but instead of dusting off the cabinets and light fixtures, it’s the turn of the clothes in your wardrobe.

Fabric shavers are a saving grace for getting rid of lint, fuzz, and “pills” (those little bobbles that form on clothing over time) without having to put anything in the wash. They work by gently shaving the surface of clothing like jumpers and coats, and collecting the loose fibres into a built-in container.

On Amazon, the number of searches for fabric shavers is 4,800, while search interest has climbed by +53%. Google yields similar results, with a 3,600 search volume and +52% increase in interest.

olDropshippers must ensure that any fabric shaver they sell complies with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, including being manufactured to ensure protection against hazards like electric shock, physical injury from moving parts, and fire. Products must also have the UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) Conformité Européene (CE) mark.

3. Cervical neck pillows

Self-care can mean many things, including getting better sleep and reducing muscle tension, and cervical neck pillows are designed to do just that.

These specially shaped pillows support the natural curve of your neck and spine while you sleep or rest – helping to ease pressure points, improve comfort, and reduce stiffness when you wake up.

From our research, we found that Amazon search volume for cervical neck pillows were 1,300, with a +26% uptick in interest. On Google, the number of searches reached 1,000, while interest surged by +22%.

For dropshippers, this is where good search engine optimisation (SEO) comes in handy. Aside from the “cervical neck pillows” keyword, we also found terms like “pillows for cervical neck pain”, “cervical pillows for neck pain”, and “best pillows for cervical neck pain” also generated high search results. Incorporating these keywords in your product titles and descriptions can help improve visibility on search engines and increase the chances of attracting high-intent customers who are actively looking to buy.

4. Portable espresso machines

Any coffee lover will tell you that hot coffee is never out of season, and for those who need a particularly strong caffeine hit, portable espresso machines are picking up as a popular go-to.

Compact and lightweight, these devices are made to brew espresso-style coffee without the need for a regular machine – making it easy to enjoy a quality coffee wherever you are.

And it’s this convenience that’s quickly catching on with shoppers, as Startups’ research found that keyword volume for portable espresso machines was 1,200 on Amazon, while interest surged by +26%.

Again, the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 apply here. Additionally, any part of the machine that touches water or coffee (such as tanks, pumps, and filters) must comply with the GM FCM Regulation, meaning that the materials used shouldn’t put anything into the coffee that could endanger health or change how the drink tastes or smells.

5. Solar garden lights

Beyond simple gardening, more time spent out in the garden means that people are looking to spruce up their outdoor space with decorations.

And a classic staple of this are solar garden lights, which use energy from the sun to power themselves – coming with a small panel that charges a battery during the day before automatically switching on at night.

This practicality and ability to add some visual aesthetic for the warmer nights has led to significant demand among shoppers. Our research shows that the number of Google searches for solar garden lights reached 14K, with interest jumping by 46%.

As with fabric shavers and portable espresso machines, dropshippers should comply with the previously mentioned electrical safety regulations, as well as the  Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016, and restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS). Products should also include the manufacturer’s name and address, safety instructions in English and proper labelling with a valid UKCA or CE mark.

6. Vitamin C serum

Now that the sun is coming out more, it’s essential to protect your skin against harmful UV rays. That’s where vitamin C serum comes in – a powerful antioxidant that’s made to protect against UV damage, as well as brighten skin, reduce dark spots, and boost collagen.

On Google, search volume for vitamin C serum has hit 34K, with an uptick in interest by +7%.

In terms of following regulations, dropshippers must comply with the UK Cosmetics Regulations when selling these products. Additionally, while vitamin C is generally considered safe, concentrations of up to 20% are typically considered safe for cosmetic use in the UK.

Additionally, sellers are required to designate a UK-based Responsible Person (RP) who oversees product safety and compliance. This includes preparing a Product Information File (PIF), complete with a safety assessment signed off by a qualified toxicologist. The product details should then be submitted through the Submit Cosmetic Product Notification (SCPN) portal before it can be sold.
