European employees have voted the UK as one of the most attractive countries for work, second only to Germany, in a new study by HR management firm ADP.

Polling 9,920 working adults across France, the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Spain and Switzerland, the study found that most European employees would consider moving abroad to work in the UK – cited as one of the largest and “strongest economies in Europe with high employment levels”.

With the UK dominating the ranking, businesses are advised to capitalise on the UK’s reputation as a economic hub to hire talent from overseas.

However, ADP has suggested that the impending ‘hard Brexit’ could effect the UK’s perception as a leading employment destination.

The firm has suggested that it is “likely the vote [saw the] UK pushed into second place by Germany  despite the arguably comparable, if not better, opportunities in the UK, and English being the more widely spoken language compared with German”.
