Parking app AppyParking raises $1.5m seed round from Aviva

2015 Startups Awards finalist set to launch new features to help drivers find the nearest and cheapest petrol prices

Startups Awards 2015 finalist AppyParking, an app that helps UK drivers find parking spaces, has raised $1.5m funding from Aviva Ventures.

Founded in 2013 by Dan Hubert, AppyParking accesses public and private parking data to enable users to find controlled parking zones, registered driveways and car parks and provide them with directions to their preferred spot via sat nav.

Currently available in 10 UK cities including London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Bristol, the app claims to save motorists unnecessary stress, money and parking tickets, while reducing traffic, congestion and pollution.

The funds will support the addition of new features to the app which will show the nearest and cheapest daily petrol prices – scheduled to launch this month.

Hubert commented: “Having Aviva Ventures’ support is incredibly exciting for us. We hope our current and future products are going to be hugely beneficial to its UK customer base.”

Ben Luckett, managing director of Aviva Ventures, continued:

“Aviva Ventures aims to invest in the best new technology and digital businesses around. We have been impressed by the incredible amount achieved by AppyParking in a short space of time and we are excited to be investing in this business.”
