When mother-daughter duo Lucy and Claire Lettice founded &SISTERS in 2016, it was out of a dual concern. One, the stigma surrounding periods and menstrual health, which makes seeking advice around this entirely natural process an unclear – and unpleasant – process. Two, that sustainable, environmentally-friendly period products were all too hard to come by.

Thus, &SISTERS – a company dedicated to providing plastic-free, vegan, certified 100% organic cotton period products – was born. Built around the tenets of safety and sustainability, &SISTERS’s products are designed to be as healthy on the planet as they are on the body. They contain none of the chemically bleached and processed man-made fibres that have become the industry’s standard, instead manufacturing their products with climate-positive, naturally-derived materials.

Built around the tenets of safety and sustainability, &SISTERS’s products are designed to be as healthy on the planet as they are on the body.

Plus, &SISTER’s products (which include a game-changing zero-waste nüdie period cup) aren’t just good for the environment – they’re good for the world, too. The company donates 10% of its profits to support global economic and social empowerment initiatives, with an emphasis on tackling period poverty.

Despite having been around for just half a decade, &SISTERS has grown to become an in-demand omni-channel brand.

The Lettices are also trying to change the conversation about periods – quite literally. Their social media channels and blog lift the lid on taboo topics, while the language they use to talk about menstruation is always accessible and inclusive. Despite having been around for just half a decade, &SISTERS has grown to become an in-demand omni-channel brand you’ll find on the shelves of Oliver Bonas, ASOS, WH Smith’s, and Planet Organic.

When it comes to period products, they don’t get more socially, environmentally, or future-focused than this, which makes &SISTERS one to watch – period!
