This is where PushFar comes in. It’s a free mentoring platform that anyone can sign up for and be matched with a mentor, thanks to a bespoke algorithm which identifies the strongest candidates based on availability, goals, industry, and location.

The pool to choose from is vast, with over 90,000 mentors and mentees already on the books, and growing. Running almost entirely on altruism, anyone who is willing to donate their time is free to sign up. To date, PushFar has facilitated over one million hours of mentoring.

The London-based startup makes good use of the tech available to it. Video and phone calls are incorporated into the platform, there’s no need to even meet in person. Meanwhile, goal tracking and dashboards, as well as integrations with Microsoft Outlook, Google and iCal calendars, can give users a nudge if they’re falling behind.

Pushfar also boasts some gamification elements. Users are able to climb the PushFar leaderboard each week when completing tasks, adding an extra initiative.
