In 2016, Oshoma Zekeri needed to hire several vendors for an event. He was looking for something within budget, but found they were either overpriced or offering a service he didn’t need to justify larger prices.

Forming a team with his co-founders Yoma James-Kukor and Charles Ofoegbu, the three partners came together to build Vendoir, an on-demand events booking app.

In the 21st century, with consumer attention spans at their shortest, people are seeking goods and services in real-time and at their fingertips. Simultaneously, sole traders and freelance performers are still struggling to get sales back to pre-pandemic levels.

Our judges believe that there is absolutely space for an app like Vendoir to marry these two issues into one, smart solution and become ‘the’ name for modern event management.

Through Vendoir, consumers can source and book vendors such as photographers, videograms and caterers in one place and with just a few taps. Meanwhile, the platform is 100% free for sole traders, freelancers, and events businesses to download and showcase their services.

The USP here is convenience. The possibility of being able to learn about and compare vendors from your mobile is clearly an attractive selling point. So far, Vendoir has been shared with 440 investors and has over 3,000 people on their waitlist ready for onboarding. It currently boasts over 300 users on the platform and a thriving community of over 20,000 supporters.
