Is your business a promising new start-up with a crowd-pleasing idea? Your peers could nominate you to win the People’s Champion title…

Why have we got a People’s Champion category?

Voted for by thousands of Startups.co.uk readers, the People’s Champion award is your chance to get recognition as the people’s favourite business with the title voted for by the public and your peers.

Selected from a long list of the 50 best entrants by the judging panel, the category celebrates the sheer variety of start-ups that enter the Startups Awards every year, whether its an innovative app, a funky new food business or a stellar new service.

What are we looking for in a great People’s Champion?

Winning the People’s Champion title effectively means that your business idea strikes a chord with the voting public.

Last year’s winner was online shaving subscription service Cornerstone. Seeking to disrupt the shaving industry on the principle that a good razor “doesn’t need to be complicated”, the business was already a real crowd pleaser: it had closed £900,000 in an oversubscribed crowdfunding campaign prior to the awards and amassed thousands of subscribers.

In 2014, global literacy database Pobble was crowned People’s Champion, with thousands of voters won over by the start-ups potential to improve levels of children’s literacy around the world.

If you are made a finalist in any of the other Startups Awards categories, you will be automatically entered into People’s Champion and Startups’ readers will then have the chance to vote for you.

Entries for the Startups Awards 2018 will close officially at midnight on 14th September 2018 , get your entry in here.
