Start-up name: Heritage Healthcare (Ealing & Richmond)
Founder: Daniela Coutinho
Started in: 2014
Based in: West Ealing
Business description: Homecare service provider

Having provided over 52,000 hours of home care to its local communities since launch in 2014, the Ealing & Richmond branch of Heritage Healthcare and its franchisee owner Daniela Coutinho stood out for the judges as the clear winner of 2016 Startups Awards Franchisee of the Year.

Heritage Healthcare provides household and domestic services, companionship and support from £15 an hour. The business makes sure it works closely with clients and their families to develop a tailored care plan for each person to ensure it meets their needs, offering anything from 30 minute visits to 24 hour live in care.

All employees are carefully vetted to ensure the highest standards of care and provided with an ongoing programme of training and professional development; the branch is currently delivering more than 4,000 hours of care every month.

Having achieved tremendous growth with the Ealing branch, inspiring franchisee Coutinho and her husband Ivan bought the neighboring Richmond branch in September 2015 – becoming Heritage’s first dual franchisees.

Already voted Franchisee of the Year at Heritage Healthcare’s 2015 AGM, Coutinho’s passion and strong ethics helped to win over the judges at the Startups Awards.

However, Heritage Healthcare did face tough competition in the category with Edward Pockney of Driver Hire Uxbridge named highly commended Franchisee of the Year by the judges, and Jamie Goral of business consultancy ActionCOACH London named commended Franchisee of the Year.
