Cupcake, founded by Young Gun of 2010 Karen Hastings, has secured a six-figure investment from Addidi, the UK’s first female-only business angel investment firm, to develop its product lines and expand its premises.

According to Hastings the funding will be used to finance a fourth site for Cupcake, building on the opening of a new outlet in Parsons Green, London, earlier this year.

In addition, the founder says that Cupcake “are developing spa products,” in close collaboration with Skin Wisdom and Tesco.

Commenting on the investment Hastings said: “Cupcake Mum is a company for mums and mums-to-be.  It is important to us that our investors can understand the concept and what we are trying to achieve in building a community for our member families.

“I knew that the Addidi Angels intrinsically understood the challenges of motherhood, and could help us grow the company.  We are delighted to be part of the Addidi investment family.”
