Social enterprise Striding Out Community Interest Company was founded by Heather Wilkinson in 2005 when she was only 26. Today it works with individuals of all ages and backgrounds to help them achieve their potential – providing leadership, business and career coaching services that are supported by training, networking and work placement services. In 2010 alone it generated revenues of £1.3m and supported 4,000 individuals across the UK. Says Wilkinson: “My vision was for Striding Out to operate on a national scale with the support of a network of coaches and in 2010 I really felt we had taken a large step towards achieving this milestone. We are currently operating in six UK regions and we continue to deliver training and coaching for companies and their employees and directly to individuals.” Over the next three years Striding Out aims to expand its services to all regions of the UK, and grow its turnover to £5m by 2014.
