Launched in June 2012, Smith and Jaffer’s mobile advertising firm has quickly established itself as a key player in one of the world’s fastest growing marketplaces. Vungle specialises in 15-second high definition in-app adverts for IOS and Android devices and works with some of the largest advertising agencies and app developers including Saatchi and Saatchi, Fetchm, Scopely and Gameloft. Claiming to enable brands to show fewer ads and simultaneously increase revenue, the duo’s digital venture has attracted major investors with $8.5m funding secured so far, including a seed round of $2m. Backers include – and this list tells you all you need to know – Crosslink Capital, Google Ventures, AOL Ventures, 500 Startups, SV Angel, Maynard Webb, Scott McNealy, Tim Draper, and SoftTech VC. Smith and Jaffer have recently added to their offices in London and San Francisco with new openings in Berlin and New York.
