Richard Stubbs
Age:
34
Company: UK Explorer

Started with Martin Hickman in 1998, Stubbs has developed UK Explorer into a leading supplier of internet connection solutions to hotels and airports. Turnover this year will grow by a minimum 80% from £747,000 in 2003. Stubbs insists success is down to providing high-level customer service. This is something he is focused on maintaining, as UK Explorer looks to double in size after securing £500,000 of funding.

2016 update:

Stubbs stepped down as CEO of UK Explorer to take up the role of equity analyst and fund manager for Prudential Portfolio managers in London and then Wellington, New Zealand. After relocating to New Zealand, the entrepreneur became an investment manager at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and then head of equities for Tower Investments in Auckland. He then co-founded Castle Point Funds Management in Auckland with a group of investors.
