A co-working space specifically designed for female entrepreneurs has opened its doors in London.

Based in Shoreditch just one minute off Silicon roundabout, Blooms aims to “create an inspirational environment for female founders to work from and do business in.”

Officially open to “all 71 genders recognised on Facebook” via 24/7 access, resident start-ups can benefit from credit-based memberships, club sessions with mentors, experts and investors – as well as an on-site creche.

Launched by Blooming Founders, a networking club for female entrepreneurs which was created by Lu Li in 2015, the community group was inspired to open Bloom after noticing a lack of co-working spaces specifically designed for women.

In addition to the new members club, Blooming Founders has also launched a new digital platform to help female founders connect with potential investors such as Index Ventures, Beringea and the UKBAA.

Members of the community will also have access to experts and mentors from different fields.

This includes: Alex Depledge – CEO and co-founder of BuildPath.com, Jules Coleman – CTO and co-founder of Buildpath.com, Deepali Nangia – angel investor, Marija Butkovic – founder of Women of Wearables, Shefaly Yogendra – board director and start-up Advisor, and Rachelle Valladares – serial entrepreneur.

Lu Li, founder of Blooming Founders & Blooms, said:

“Blooms is a new milestone that is part of the Blooming Founders mission to build a support infrastructure for female entrepreneurship.

“We wanted to create an environment that was female founder friendly, but open to everybody.

“Blooms’ vision as London’s first female focused business club is to create an inspirational environment for founders to work from and do business in.

“By providing the right setting and access to a diverse community, to enable our members to focus on work, life and success whilst providing a sanctuary.

“We’ve gained fantastic support from investors, experts and other mentors, to help our growing community, and we’ve seen a real appetite for our memberships.”
