UK start-ups are being offered the opportunity to win free primetime TV advertising on channels such as Sky Sports and Sky News, with the launch of iZettle’s ’15 Seconds of Fame’ competition.

The competition, which intends to help small businesses “get their name out there”, will select seven winners (six chosen by a jury, and another by the public) to broadcast their ad on national television across October and November.

To be in with a chance of winning, businesses have to submit a 15 second video clip about their company on the mobile payment specialist’s website.

iZettle chief marketing offer, Johan Bendz, commented: “Getting exposure on prime time television can transform a business’s fortune, but it comes with cost way beyond the reach of small companies.”

Submit your business for ’15 Seconds of Fame’ here, the deadline for entries is October 4. Winners will be announced late October.
