Former Startups Awards winner and Young Gun James Murray Wells and angel investor Eileen Burbidge are among the individuals that have been awarded titles by the Queen in her birthday honours list, announced this week.

Murray Wells; the founder of online eyewear retailer GlassesDirect and co-founder of StartUp Britain, received an OBE for his services to business while Burbidge; partner at tech venture capital firm Passion Capital, was awarded an MBE.

Nail entrepreneur Sharmadean Reid, founder of WAH London, and JustGiving.com founder and chief executive Zarine Kharas also received honours for their contributions to the industry – awarded an MBE and CBE respectively.

The Queen also recognised 25 year-old young entrepreneur to watch Zoe Jackson, founder of performing arts company Living the Dream, with an MBE.
