Attention food start-ups…The third annual London Food Tech Week is now in full swing, running from Monday 30 October to Friday 3 November, led by YFood.

First established by Victoria Albrecht and Nadia El Hadery back in 2015, the food tech festival is focused on celebrating the rapidly growing food technology industry and the various business opportunities the food sector has to offer.

This week will see the capital play host to over 40 events including pitching and networking days, investor drop-ins, exclusive lunches with high-profile entrepreneurs and thought-leaders, and London’s first Food Tech Village at Borough Market.

Founders of food start-ups and small businesses are invited to get involved with London Food Tech Week 2017 and get your business in front of top industry brands, investors and clients.

Speakers at this week’s events will be offering market knowledge, insights and skills, and include:

Wednesday

A new definition of good business

Time: 9:30am to 12:00pm
Venue: The Jetty SE10 0JF

Wednesday’s headline event will see JustEat’s head of corporate communications, Joanna DeKoning, The Sustainable Restaurant Association CEO Andrew Stephen, and Borough Market’s managing director Darren Henaghan come together with industry leaders to discuss topics such as how local heroes are solving global problems, how to stay innovative and relevant, and a discussion on the responsibilities for food businesses in today’s world.

Thursday

How food tech is changing the competition and experience for consumers

Time: 9:30am to 12:00pm
Venue:  WeWork Waterhouse Square 138 Holborn London EC1N 2SW

Featuring speakers including Wagamama’s customer director Emma Woods, Pret a Manger board advisor Mark Palmer, and Jungle Creations’ Bolding, this event will enable attendees to get a ‘taste’ for the technology shaping the food industry and how social media has become a growing influence for the food industry.

The event will also involve a fireside chat on the models, trends and tech saving the future of dining.

Friday

Trailblazing ahead  for smart food cities

Time: 9:30am to 12:00pm
Venue: Studio Spaces Unit 2, 110 Pennington St, St Katharine’s & Wapping, London E1W 2BB

With a roster of impressive names speaking, followed by an audience Q&A session, this event will see UberEATS UK general manager Mathieu Proust explain how cities and the food industry can innovate to enable collaborative, thriving and sustainable smart food cities.

Leonie Cooper, chair of the environment committee of London City Hall, will also be discussing how cities and businesses can work together to solve challenges around waste and pollution to create more sustainable solutions.
