Mobile automotive equipment seller Mac Tools has recruited four new franchisees, expanding its 200-plus strong network.

Wayne Harriman, Marcus Webb (pictured), Glenn Carpenter and Matt Gell signed up with the leading automotive tools franchise due to its offer of ongoing support alongside the independence of running your own company.

The international franchise was founded in the US in 1938 and has been in the UK since 1990. It was acquired by Stanley Black & Decker in 2010 and since then claims to have achieved 25% growth year-on-year.

New franchisee Harriman commented on his decision to join the group:

“I’ve always wanted to be my own boss, and to have the ability to make my own decisions and take the business in the direction I want, knowing what will work in this area. The fact that Mac Tools offers a world class range of tools, along with professional support in every area, gave me the confidence I needed to succeed.

“My background was in mechanical engineering and B2B sales so I already had a good understanding of the product and the sales process, and Mac Tools are providing plenty of support along the way too.”

A Mac Tools franchise costs £50,000, with candidates needing a liquid fund of £3,750; this overall cost includes stock, business and marketing training, and continued support from a business development manager.
