Serial entrepreneur and former secret millionaire Mike Greene has announced the launch of a crowdfunding platform for small businesses and start-ups.

Featuring investments chosen by Greene, the platform will aim to open up more opportunities for early and growth stage companies to secure backing across the UK.

Primarily it will focus on start-ups that have been approved for the Enterprise (EIS) or Seed Enterprise Investment (SEIS) schemes and will only present the top 7% of proposals to potential investors.

Those businesses currently featured on the platform include an event space rental and booking hub, a ‘fat atomising grill’ and a medical start-up aiming to disrupt the spinal surgery market.

Greene commented: “I’ve had plenty of experience of both trying to secure finance and investing in start-ups and scale-ups, so I know how daunting it can be at first.

“But I’ve also found it to be incredibly rewarding, and I want to connect more investors with talented entrepreneurs and exciting growth companies so they can do the same.

“Being successful doesn’t just mean securing or putting up capital in the short term, it’s about surrounding yourself with the best possible advice and guidance for the long term, and that sits at the heart of my approach.”
