Small Business Saturday opens applications for Small Biz 100

Successful businesses will be profiled across social media on each of the 100 days leading up to the Small Business Saturday initiative on December 3

Small Business Saturday, the nationwide event to support, inspire and promote the UK’s small, independent high street businesses, has launched applications to find this year’s Small Biz 100 – 100 companies specifically chosen to head up the campaign.

For the 100 days leading up to the fourth annual Small Business Saturday initiative on 3 December 2016, each successful start-up busiensses will be championed across social, local, regional, national and sector media.

The 100 companies chosen for the Small Biz 100 competition will also have the opportunity to take part in a variety of events held in the run up to the event, and on the day. Spending on Small Business Saturday 2015 hit £623m – an increase of 24% on the previous year.

Michelle Ovens, national campaign director of Small Business Saturday, commented: “These businesses will be from any location or any business sector – we want them to represent the UK’s 5.4 million small businesses – really fantastic businesses who will be doing great things to celebrate Small Business Saturday.”
