Yell partners with Facebook to help local firms boost their online profiles

Businesses will be offered advanced targeting of Facebook users, with Yell guaranteeing they reach those users a minimum of eight times every month

Yell and Facebook have partnered to launch a highly targeted social advertising product, aimed at helping local businesses raise their online profiles.

Local businesses will be able to access advanced targeting of Facebook users, with Yell saying it will guarantee they reach those users a minimum of eight times every month.

Yell says the product will help them take advantage of the 90% of UK consumers that use their smartphones and tablets to access Facebook and make digital searches.

Richard Hanscott, chief executive of Yell, commented: “The social advertising market in the UK has seen unprecedented growth over recent years, but has typically been dominated by major brands who have the advanced capabilities to directly target customers.

“Today’s announcement, and this strategic partnership, will provide local businesses with these same capabilities, thereby levelling the playing field and ensuring that they too can leverage the significant market opportunity Facebook offers’’.
