In a world where increasing numbers of consumers are discovering chia seeds, wheatgrass juice, and leafy greens, there’s a growing market for fresh, healthy, and all-natural foods…

…so why should Mittens miss out?

KatKin is an enterprise designed to 'change how parents feed cats by bringing to market fresh, personalised, and species-appropriate nutrition'

That was brother-sister team Brett and Nikki O’Farrell’s thinking when they founded KatKin – an enterprise designed to “change how parents feed cats by bringing to market fresh, personalised, and species-appropriate nutrition”. Because, while popular fresh pet chow purveyors such as NomNom, Farmer’s Dog, and MyOllie have proven the market need, food of the feline variety has been left behind.

It’s this gap the O’Farrell siblings seek to fill, harnessing data, technology, and nutrition expertise to build the world’s first “personalised fresh nutrition and wellness company for cats and their parents”.

Unlike many of the industry’s biggest players, KatKin produces all its food in-house, with the aim of making it both accessible and affordable for the everyday cat parent. KatKin works on a subscription basis, too, which helps remove many of the time and effort barriers to sourcing and organising healthy cat food.

After launching in the UK in January 2020, KatKin has already received $6m in funding from some of London’s most respected venture capitalists.

And the early signs are anything but paw. After launching in the UK in January 2020, KatKin has already amassed an impressive wealth of Facebook and Trustpilot reviews, and received $6m in funding from some of London’s most respected venture capitalists.

With a growing audience of cat parents, an expanding recipe book, and the science to back it all up, you get the sense that KatKin is a mere whisker away from becoming a household name.
