Baltic expansion is latest in international franchise strategy for fast-growing online tailor
A Suit That Fits today announced quarterly sales of almost £1m, following the high-end online tailor’s expansion into Latvia.
Founded in 2006 by Class of 2011 Young Guns Warren Bennett and David Hathiramani, A Suit That Fits was founded as an online tailor, providing custom-fit tailored suits at discount prices starting from £289.
The wool suits are produced and shipped from Nepal, with consumers then visiting one of several brick-and-mortar tailors in order to further customise the fit.
Since launch the company has grown rapidly and expanded into offline retail – with 30 locations across the UK, the company has a growing international presence through a mix of its own stores and a franchise-based expansion model.
Its latest franchise in Latvia is led by Rihards Lepers, an actor well-known in the country, and follows A Suit That Fit’s first franchise openings in the Irish cities of Dublin and Cork last year.
The founders said the expansion into the Baltics has boosted sales to around £1m this quarter, with year-end sales predicted to reach £4m overall.
The company also revealed plans to target several cities on the US East Coast this year, following co-founder Warren Bennett opening a new studio above Grand Central Station in New York.
