Live Better With, a website dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer sufferers, has completed a $2m seed funding round led by Fig, with participation from Downing Ventures, Forward partners and the London Co Investment Fund (LCIF).

Founded in 2015 by Tamara Rajah, Startups 100-featured Live Better With’s healthcare platform curates the non-medical products that help with the symptoms and side-effects of treatment including books, balms and mobility aids.

The company – which has offices in East London and New York – has seen more than 500,000 visitors to its site and had over 20,000 patients and carers join its online community.

Last month, Live Better With announced a partnership with Marie Curie to launch dedicated Marie Curie product bundles. Every sale generates a donation to the cancer charity.

The finance will enable the start-up to embark on a campaign of global expansion and help more cancer patients around the world.

Rajah commented: “We are hugely excited about the scope of what we can offer to cancer patients […] to make their day-to-day life a little bit better, and to help bring together the non-medical side of cancer care.”

James King, founder at Fig, said: “Tamara’s vision, humility and drive have led to the creation of both an exciting and important business, Live Better With.

“Fig has every confidence in the business, having led a round that combines angel investors who’ve extensive market experience with Forward’s industry expertise, alongside our, Downing and LCIF’s capital.”
