Online street food marketplace Feast It closes $440,000 seed funding

Street food platform will look to expand its 200 network of vendors that includes Patty & Bun, The Breakfast Club and Dirty Burger

Feast It, the online street food marketplace, has raised $440,000 in seed funding from Brown’s restaurants founder Jeremy Mogford, Hummus Bros investor Tim Burridge and Caper & Berry Catering founder Tim Brennan.

Founded in 2016, Feast It allows event planners, businesses and consumers to compare and book their ideal caterer. It works in partnership with more than 200 London street food vendors including Patty & Bun, The Breakfast Club, Dirty Burger, Hummus Bros and Bubbledogs.

Since launch, it has provided caterers for weddings, restaurants takeovers, office lunches and worked with major events and corporates including Amazon, WeWork, Samsung, and the Virgin Sport Hackney Half Marathon.

Feast It plans to eventually partner with craft breweries, independent spirit makers, bars and chefs to become the “central hub” for the UK’s independent events industry.

This funding will enable it to grow its team and expand the number and reach of food & drink vendors using the platform.

Digby Vollrath, Feast It co-founder, commented: “The process of booking catering hasn’t really changed over the last 10 years; it’s needlessly labour intensive and almost impossible to find the full range of food that’s actually available when you need it.

“We wanted to create a platform that helps people realise the amazingly diverse and delicious options available to them as well as book event catering from the chefs they already know and love!”

Hugo Campbell, Feast It co-founder, added: “It’s been amazing that we’ve been able to partner with so many incredible and well known suppliers from day one. I really believe that street food catering is a more diverse, exciting, and tastier option than traditional ‘silver service’ catering and I don’t think people realise that on average it’s a quarter of the price per head.

“We really hope that Feast It can help people find the perfect food for their special event and take out all of the legwork that usually comes with that!”
