After months of due diligence and the whittling down of more than 200 entrants through two knockout stages, All Response Media (ARM) has revealed the two winners of its third annual TV Star competition; partnered once again by Startups.co.uk and, for the first time, Sky Media and Crowdcube.

LOVESPACE and Trouva have each won a fully-funded TV advertising campaign worth £50,000, as well as access to ARM’s proprietary campaign response analytics suite ARMalytics for tracking TV to web-visits.

LOVESPACE, which was the Startups Awards Crowdfunded Business of the Year 2016, offers storage and redelivery services throughout the UK from £1.95 per month.

Trouva – nominated for App of the Year at last year’s Startups Awards – is an online platform that has collated over 300 independent shops and boutiques from around the world.

Slated to launch later this year, the campaigns will grant both companies the opportunity to gain significant exposure from “substantial airtime”.

The two companies were selected from eight “high-calibre” finalists after pitching to an esteemed judging panel consisting of ARM founders Andy Sloan and Colin Gillespie, alongside Ian Wallis, editorial director at Startups.co.uk; Jonathan Keeling, head of partnerships at Crowdcube; Clodagh Ward, director at Turquoise Sun; and Ted Unwin, head of sales at Sky Media.

Last year’s competition saw minicabit – another Startups Awards winning business – awarded the fully-funded TV advertising campaign.

The other finalists – who will also receive financial support from ARM and access to ARMalytics – were:

Sloan commented: “With TV Star, we are delighted to have two incredibly worthy winners in LOVESPACE and Trouva, and we are looking forward to seeing their exponential growth via the medium of TV. They are both very exciting brands with massive potential. To work with entrepreneurs you need to be one, and TV Star we believe embodies that ethos”.

Steve Folwell, co-founder and CEO at LOVESPACE, commented: “We’re delighted to have been awarded the TV Star prize. We’ve developed a great storage service used already by over 25,000 customers and we know there is a much bigger market out there for us.

“Investing in higher reach channels like TV, where we can really tell the LOVESPACE story, is going to get the message out that there is much easier and convenient way to store your things.”

Alex Loizou, co-founder and CTO at Trouva, commented: “We are delighted to have won TV Star and look forward to working with All Response Media on Trouva’s first TV ad campaign. The competition has opened up TV as a channel for Trouva and we look forward to taking advantage of ARMalytics to monitor the growth it brings.”
