A new app that claims to make submitting a tax return “quick and easy” for self-employed people has launched this week.

Created by Oldham-based software company GoSimple, the app is recognised by HMRC and is available across all devices. It charges £18 to enable users to file a tax return and makes personalised recommendations on the tax savings that users qualify for.

Developed in line with HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) reforms, the app is looking to target the 20 million people in the UK who submit a tax return every year.

Amanda Swales, the managing director of GoSimple, commented:

“Designed by our expert technical team, our smartphone software will ensure individuals have access to an affordable, easy-to-use and jargon free returns process.

“Lots of other products in the market use complex tax terminology, whereas we make ours as simple as possible, providing intuitive help and advice throughout the journey.”
