Funerals are something people avoid thinking about. Most people only tackle planning for one when they have to – which is of course at the worst time, when someone important to them has died.

London-based Legacy of Lives is a unique end-of-life, supportive planning solution for bereaved family members, as well as a transformative digital marketing partner for funeral directors.

The platform gives direct pricing to customers, who don’t have to pay any fee to access the service. It offers up exact costs for funeral services and details on local funeral directors, all in real-time. Legacy of Lives levels the playing field for independent directors who are behind in their approach to the digital world.

The founding team discovered through personal experience and research how the funeral market was letting consumers down.

“In the midst of an ageing society, we want to start a new culture where people do not fear to talk about death, legacies and saying goodbye,” says Legacy of Lives founder Rebeca Peach. “We want to be the incubator of responsible, considerate and consumer-centred end-of-life planning.”

Understandably, the marketplace for such a service isn’t going away. Legacy of Lives sees itself gaining an ever greater foothold in the funeral planning industry, aiming to facilitate 10% of all UK funerals by 2026. Beyond that, there’s the potential to export its tech as a franchise internationally.

Along the way, the business intends to  leverage unique insights into market and consumer trends, as well as holding a supervisory role and championing best practice.

In the midst of an ageing society, we want to start a new culture where people do not fear to talk about death, legacies and saying goodbye.

Legacy of Lives is also partnering with end-of-life charities, hospices, and hospitals to support its users and give a percentage of its revenue as a donation for any referrals that convert.

Because, beyond its impressive business growth plans, Legacy of Lives wants to make a true impact for social good. “We want people to leave the world with dignity and love,” says Peach. “We want to support those who are in grief and protect them with transparent fees.”
