Grubby provides the UK’s first 100% plant-based recipe kit. The kit includes pre-portioned, fresh ingredients and delivers it straight to customers’ door steps, ready to cook up a storm with easy-to-follow instructions.

Its recently developed app allows subscribers to choose from over 50 recipes, with plenty of options for to cooking up healthy plant-based meals each week.

Created by plant-based foodie Martin Holden-White, who struggled when first venturing into cooking and eating more vegan meals, Grubby aims to help anyone in a similar boat.

Users will be pleased to know that sustainability is at the business’s core – the packaging is 100% recyclable, compostable, ethically sourced, and produced in the UK in 95% of cases. The business also uses ‘pedal power’ wherever possible – saving 10 tonnes of C02 a year from bike deliveries alone.

Since launching in September 2019, Grubby has delivered over 100,000 plant-based meals.

As well as customer support, the company has recently closed its first funding round, with a combined total of £1.2m raised from over 600 investors. Grubby was also awarded the government’s sustainable innovation grant from Innovate UK, which allowed it to tackle the challenges faced during the first national wide lockdown.

The business runs a flexible subscription-based model, where customers can skip, pause or cancel anytime. The default is a weekly delivery but this can be changed to fortnightly or monthly as the customer wishes.

Although Grubby serves up plant-based food, around 90% of its customers are non-vegans. So, whether it’s vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, or meat eaters who want to switch it up a bit, Grubby has something to offer everyone.
